The latest member of the Puma RS family, the RS 9.8, is a FUTRO sneaker inspired by the gravitational orbit within our solar system. Named after the gravitational acceleration of Earth – that being 9.8m/s2 – the RS 9.8 promises to add momentum to any outfit.
The RS 9.8 features an upper constructed of textile with overlays of suede and leather – a combination that further enhances the FUTRO aesthetic. The overall sneaker has a very aerodynamic appearance, finding a balance between sleek and retro chunky elements. It also borrows elements from other silhouettes in the RS family, which includes the ultra-comfortable sock lining and the RS foam.
Speaking of foam, the RS 9.8’s midsole is comprised of the lightweight, plush PU foam we have come to expect from the Puma RS line. The midsole continues the cosmo aesthetic with unique space-inspired spheres molded into the foam to resemble the planets and objects that orbit in our solar system.
The first iteration drops on July 20 in the White-High Risk Red colorway, a truly classic color combo. It will retail at S$159 and you can pick up a pair at Puma.com or at PUMA MBS SELECT, VivoCity, Bugis+, Suntec City, JEM, Century Square, Jewel Changi Airport, ION Orchard, Paragon, OG People’s Park, Royal Sporting House, Robinsons and TANGS.
