Raf Simons and Fred Perry partner for a ninth collaborative collection featuring classics reinvented with Mod and Americana influences.
This season, the well-received partnership between Raf Simons and Fred Perry presents a collection of classics reinvented with Mod and Americana influences seen with oversized ‘Fred Perry’ initials and collegiate inspired knitwear finished with the brand’s signature twin tipping detailing.
Set in a deep autumnal color palette of bottle green, burgundy and navy contrasted with color pops of lilac, electric blue and orange, the collection sees key pieces including the varsity jacket with oversized Laurel Wreath on the reverse, knitted Fred Perry shirt in checkerboard, Fred Perry polo shirt with detachable collar and the classic Harrington jacket updated with checkerboard pattern.
Said Raf Simons on the collaboration with Fred Perry, “The challenge is exactly the fact that Fred Perry has a very distinctive heritage and identity. I am always interested to see in what way that can be strengthened by collaborating. It is in the first place about understanding each others codes and style but also attitude. It is about respecting each other and working on collections that translate both brands natures and challenge each other by focusing on the differences of each others nature, to create something different from what both would usually do.”
The Raf Simons x Fred Perry Autumn/Winter 2013 collection is now available at exclusively at the all-new Fred Perry Laurel Wreath Collection Shop, Mandarin Gallery #03-08.
