Nike collaborators have gone wild with the brand’s signature side panel Swoosh in recent times. We’ve seen creative touches ranging from interchangeable velcro Swooshes and Travis Scott’s backward rendition to none other than Slam Jam’s upside-down take of the logo on the Blazer Mid. And as it appears, the Slam Jam x Nike Blazer Mid “Class ’77” will get a second run at it in a new colorway this month.
The initial Blazer Mid “Class ’77” collaboration sneaker which dropped earlier this year came in a clean white colorway which truly enhanced the vintage silhouette. The upcoming rendition, on the other hand, will flip the switch for an all-new black colorway. A mix of canvas and deconstructed leather wrap the uppers once again with a contrasting white upside-down Swoosh in place this time – a key feature of the collaboration. “Class” and “1977” appear on either side of the heel, an ode to the original design of the Blazer Mid introduced on that year.
As a symbol of the special collaboration and Nike’s heritage, only 1,977 pairs of the Slam Jam x Nike Blazer Mid “Class ’77” will be made available exclusively at Slam Jam only. The raffle for the highly limited sneaker begins this Saturday, November 9, with the official launch set for November 29. There will likely be a further release on Nike.com at a later date as well. Stay tuned for more updates.
