Teaming up with pro-wrestler “Red Arrow” Neville, Stephen Amell is all set to shine when he steps inside the squared circle at WWE’s upcoming pay-per-view.
Stephen Amell, who plays the Green Arrow in the hit television series Arrow, was a front-row guest on the latest episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, where he got unceremoniously shoved in the face by WWE Superstar, Stardust. Putting his physical training to good use, Amell leaped into the ring and proceeded to beat down on Stardust, before security pulled him away.
Usually, that’s about all the screen time that guests get on WWE. But in an aired backstage segment, Amell was seen demanding a match with Triple H, who relented and paired Amell with pro-wrestler “Red Arrow” Neville, in a tag team match against Stardust and King Barrett at Summerslam.
This isn’t the first time WWE has involved actors and celebrities in its storylines; the likes of Hugh Jackman, Mike Tyson and Ronda Rousey have made appearances and have laid their hands on pro-wrestlers all in the name of entertainment. It’ll be interesting to see how Amell fares in front of a live audience of over 10,000 fans, as he performs choreographed moves with exact precision.
WWE Summerslam is set to take place on August 23rd.
