If your workplace is in the Central Business District (CBD), you’ll know how difficult it can be to enjoy a good lunch that’s worth your every dollar. Grain Traders is intent on changing that, with an exceptional dining experience that will make you glad you didn’t eat takeaways in the pantry. Brought to you by the people behind the Kilo restaurant chain, Grain Traders feature homely, aesthetically-pleasing interiors that are a welcome departure from the cold, sometimes sterile office environment.
The eatery’s open kitchen concept is testament to its mantra of “Slow Food, Real Fast”, as the chefs freshly prepare each ingredient and place them on display, giving customers a preview of the endless permutations of ingredients that could go into their bowl, making a complete meal.
If you find yourself standing in line, not knowing what ingredients to pick, you can opt for one of the six signature bowls, which come with set numbers and types of ingredients. The popular El Hibaro, reminiscent of Japanese fare, is a mix of striploin beef, charred veggies, wafu tomato and bean sprout salad on white sushi rice. It’s also easily one of our favorites.
Calorie-counters must try the Upstream, which comprises wasabi salmon with chilli furikake, butternut squash, sweet potato, homemade cucumber pickles and greens.

Pick your own ingredients from the various categories on the menu; the combinations are endless! Stumped? Ask Grain Traders’ friendly servers for their recommendations. Complete your meal with premium coffee from Papa Palheta, or a cold juice if you don’t need the caffeine.
