In streetwear, a tee is not just a tee. It’s a canvas for some of the best art – possibly why Stussy will be releasing a 240-page tome dedicated to tees, titled An IDEA Book About T-Shirts by Stussy.
A highlight of the book is an archive section that features never before seen images collected over the brand’s 38-year history. The book also includes tear away sheets and visuals of Stussy adverts collected over the years.
The Stussy IDEA book is also rich with fashion imagery contributed by notable photographers like Terry Richardson and Norwegian duo Inez and Vinoodh.
Those who respond better to words will enjoy the essay and interview by New York based filmmaker Ari Marcopoulos.
In addition, Stussy is also releasing an IDEA t-shirt to commemorate the launch of the book. Created in collaboration with Dover Street Market, the t-shirt will come in a black and white colorway and Stussy’s branding on the front and back of the shirt.
An IDEA Book About T-Shirts by Stussy (S$90) and the IDEA t-shirt (S$ 64) will be available at Stussy Singapore Chapter Store (#03-03 Cathay Cineleisure Orchard, 8 Grange Road) from Friday, September 8. According to Stussy Singapore, the t-shirt will be launched in the third week of September.
