The Takashi Murakami x Porter collaboration comprises three bags and is made primarily of green nylon.

Takashi Murakami is known mainly for his artwork, but he has also made a name for himself in the fashion world. Over the years, he has teamed up with renowned brands like Louis Vuitton and Vans. This time, he is heading closer to home by partnering with bag manufacturer Porter Japan.

This collaboration sees Murakami adding his playful touch to three iconic silhouettes of Porter’s Tanker line – the 2-way helmet, the waist bag, and the rucksack. The three bags come in green Nylon and feature detachable Murakami-styled flowers throughout. Porter’s branding tags are embroidered onto each of these flowers.

The waist bag, 2-way helmet bag and the rucksack from the Takashi Murakami x Porter collaboration will set you back 80,000 Yen (Approx. S$1004), 110,000 Yen (Approx. S$1381) and 120,000 Yen (Approx. S$1506) respectively. Unfortunately, they will only be sold in Japan at the official Porter site as well as their physical stores.

Are these bags worth the $1000+ price tags? Share your thoughts in the comments.
