Sneaker of the season 

2023 has undeniably been the year of the Adidas Samba. In a matter of months, the retro football and training sneaker went from a forgotten staple to a blokecore essential. All this has culminated with Footwear News awarding the Samba “Shoe of the Year” in November this year. In celebration of the achievement and the upcoming festive season, Adidas Singapore presents ‘Tis the SZN to Samba at Brand Centre Orchard (BCO)– a campaign that presents a series of special gifts, installations and games inspired by the classic Samba OG and the elevated Sambae.

Samba: A blokecore essential

The rise of the Samba can partly be attributed to the popularity of the blokecore look, which is an aesthetic that pairs football gear with streetwear staples. Think vintage or modern football team jerseys with wide-cut denim and classic indoor court trainers. The sneaker itself can trace its origins to football as it was first unveiled at the 1950 Brazil World Cup. The combination of soft, malleable outsole and comfortable full leather uppers has made the Samba an instant hit both on and off the court. 

For the holiday season, Adidas has brought together singer-songwriter and model Iman Fandi (@imandandi17) and professional footballers Harhys Stewart (@harhyss) and Marc Ryan Tan (@marcryannn) to create a festive lookbook featuring the Samba OG and Sambae.

Celebrate at Brand Centre Orchard 

As part of the ‘Tis the SZN to Samba celebrations, Adidas has a series of special gifts and activities lined up at the Brand Centre Orchard exclusively for Adiclub members. Here’s everything you can unlock when you sign up: 

1. From December 1 to January 3, claim complimentary single-sided embroidery customization only at BCO MakerLab when you purchase any adult-sized Samba of eligible materials. Limited to the first 50 in-store purchases per day.

2. From December 1, redeem holiday wrappers in-store when you make a purchase at Adidas stores, excluding the Factory Outlets. If you make an online purchase at adidas.com.sg, you can redeem your holiday wrappers at Brand Centre Orchard, VivoCity Performance and Originals store from December 18 to 24 for orders made between December 1 to 17. 

Win a pair of Sambas 

Plus, stand a chance to win a pair of Samba OGs when you Spot the Hidden Sambas in our mural by artist Iqbal (@ebao_art) titled Streets of Samba at BCO. Here’s how Adiclub members with public Instagram accounts can join from December 1 to 31:
