5 Things You Didn't Know About Arabyrd

Here’s what you need to know about Arabyrd (KL), who will be flying in to town to play at SELF-MADE this Saturday, May 28th, at Refuge (Lounge, L3).

1. Her stage name came about by chance

Arafah Edruce was at her desk at work when the Worldwide Festival organizers called to ask how she would like to be named on the bill. She was sitting next to a colleague who used to call her “birdie”, so she cooked up the name “Arabird” on the spot. The organizers replaced the “i” with a “y” because it suited the font they were using, and the rest as they say, is history. (source)

2. She has shared the stage with some of the world’s finest DJs
