Longtime sneakerheads should be familiar with adidas’ revolutionary Micropacer. Before the dawn of 3D-printed sneakers and lightweight knitted uppers, the 1984 adidas Micropacer was a window into the future of footwear.
Sneaker technology has certainly advanced significantly since then, but the iconic footwear won’t be left behind. It now has a place among today’s futuristic-looking sneakers with the all-new adidas Futurepacer.
This time though, the sneaker lacks the performance tracking computer chip that made the Micropacer marvelously high-tech for its time. In stripping that off, though, the Futurepacer manages to retain all other hallmarks of adidas’ modern sneakers – lightweight, sleek and BOOST-ed.
It looks like a cross between the Micropacer and the brand’s beloved NMD silhouette. With the velcro-flap covering the laces and all-around leather uppers, it certainly comes off as a clean and perfectly shaped sneaker.
