We’re heading into the final week of August with exciting launches that include none other than the highly anticipated Air Jordan 1 Obsidian colorway in true OG styling. Meanwhile, Nike readies the iconic Air Max 90 in a familiar color-block seen on the OG Dunk way back in 2002. Adidas, on the other hand, goes full-on this week thanks to collaboration releases with Pharrell Williams and Arizona Iced Tea. Ready to go sneaker shopping this week? Scroll on for all the details you need.
This year, the viotech purple made its comeback on the Air Max 90 after first catching the eyes of sneakerheads in 2002 when the market was dominated by the Nike SB Dunk Low. While the Air Max 90 Viotech 2.0 dropped just last month, this Thursday, August 29, we’ll see another iteration making its way to us. This Air Max 90 Viotech nearly replicates the original wayward color blocking on the OG Dunks. You only have to look at the blue toe box and red toe cap to identify the stark similarities.
The classic color-blocking mixed with the premium suede and mesh uppers gives this one an ageless look that’s bound to live long in your rotation. The sneaker retails at S$195. Hit the link below to cop.

Michael Jordan’s status was well-cemented in college basketball even before his legendary career in the NBA. Once again, Jordan Brand will honor the greatness of MJ with a new Air Jordan 1 Obsidian colorway that pays homage to his alma mater – the University of North Carolina. Thanks to the OG styling characterized by the Black Toe colorway in 1985, this Obsidian iteration looks well and truly like a classic. First seen on the women’s Blue Chill colorway last year, this one takes on a premium tumbled leather finish for that retro vibe. Priced at S$239, you’ll be getting your money’s worth if you don’t want to face the predicament of copping this on the resale market.

Whether you favor multi-hued or monochromatic ‘fits, Adidas has got you covered, as the Adidas NMD Hu Trail collection will feature two bold iterations – Volt and pink – and two neutral renditions – one of them murdered-out in triple black. You’ll still find the signature messages across the forefoot of the latest sneakers. The gum-colored trail sole on all four of the sneakers is a highlight which lends a classic feel to the modern silhouette. Will we see the resurgence of the Adidas x Pharrell Williams NMD Hu Trail? Looking at these colorways, it sure looks like it. The sneaker collection drops this Saturday, August 31, retailing at S$340 each.

Arizona Iced Tea and Adidas Originals continue their collaboration with another set of releases featuring the Continental Vulc silhouette. You’ll definitely recognize the inspiration behind the four-colorway capsule with vibrant prints from its popular flavors – Green Tea with Ginseng and Honey, Lemon, Mucho Mango, and Watermelon. Premium leather and suede line the uppers of the sneaker with Arizona’s branding appearing on the mid-panel tab and the tongue label. Judging from its riot-inducing drop in New York, these will likely be high in demand. Be sure to check out the in-store release details for the S$140 sneakers below if you’re looking to cop.
