London-based high fashion e-commerce site Farfetch Limited has acquired Stadium Goods for an undisclosed amount paid in cash and Farfetch shares. Stadium Goods is currently valued at US$250 million (source).
According to Fast Company, Stadium Goods will continue to operate independently, however, its inventory will also be offered via the Farfetch website.
Stadium Goods opened its doors in 2015 and has since become one of the go-to destinations for the latest drip. In addition to their large online presence, the retailer also has a brick-and-mortar located in New York City. You might recognize the store through its many appearances in the popular Complex Youtube series “Sneaker Shopping”.
Is this a sign of where sneaker reselling and fashion is headed? Whichever the case, reselling is officially big business.
