The Fragment x Tag Heuer Motorsport Chronograph sees Fragment designer, Hiroshi Fujiwara, bringing his minimalist design sensibilities to the rugged refinement of this timepiece.
Stripped down to its bare essentials, this timepiece does away with flashy elements or gimmicks. Instead, it’s the play on colors and contrasts that are attention-grabbing and lend this piece a decidedly sporty look.
The bezel and watch face come with a matte, black base while all the letterings and logos pop out in striking silver. Red indexes and lacquered central hands accentuate the details within the watch while adding a nice contrast to the functional watch face. Subtle Fragment branding is added above the Tag Heuer emblem and between the 4 and 5’o clock indexes.
The case back is where the watch get flashier: A red sapphire crystal window gives a glimpse into the inner workings of the watch. The Fragment logo is added to the center, partially obscuring the mechanics. It’s also on the case back that Tag Heuer adds the watch edition number, 1 to 500. The automatic column-wheel chronograph boasts an 80-hour power reserve.
The timepiece will come with a special five-row steel bracelet with a butterfly folding clasp, exclusive to this collaboration. The steel itself has been brushed to catch and reflect light with every movement of the wrist.
The Fragment x Tag Heuer Motorsport Chronograph retails for S$8,650 and is now available for pre-order at Tag Heuer boutiques at Wisma Atria, ION Orchard and Marina Square. Head over to www.tagheuer.com for more details.
