Kendall Jenner makes her first Adidas Originals ad appearance wearing classic Superstar sneakers.

Titled ORIGINAL is never finished, the Adidas ad shows Kendall Jenner being birthed out of an incubation pod. In another scene, the model is depicted as Leonardo Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man and the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite.

Jenner is the first to speak in the ad, reciting what sounds like part of an Adidas tagline for the 2016 Pride pack as seen on an Instagram post. The model begins with the words “without exception”, and ends with “I did it my way”, echoing the lyrics of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way”.

The advertisement is the model’s first for Adidas since it was first announced that she’d be representing the brand as an ambassador in June 2017.

Not everyone was pleased with the ad. According to The Sun, some Adidas fans have threatened to boycott the sportswear brand due to Jenner’s association with a scandalized Pepsi ad that aired in April this year.

Some critics have taken offense at Adidas casting non-athletes in their ads. Twitter user Bob Sterling (@OneBoredDude) described Jenner as the “least athletic person in the entire universe” (image below):

The same sentiment was echoed by Instagram user @samathachuck (image below):

Negative comments and backlash aside, a majority of Jenner’s fans on Instagram and Twitter seem to be supportive of the model’s new venture, with many leaving comments such as “LB”, which stands for “like back”.
