Sacai x Nike Vaporwaffle Second Drop On December 19

The Sacai x Nike Vaporwaffle returns in two new colorways “Villain Red” and “Tour Yellow”. Both will drop on December 19.

Chitose Abe, the brains behind Sacai, solidified her presence in the streetwear scene with a second collaboration with Nike and the release of the Sacai x Nike Vaporwaffle. On December 19, the sneaker will drop in two new colorways, “Villain Red” and “Tour Yellow”.

Like the first drop, the sneaker merges the past and future of running sneakers into one design. Every design cue is doubled up like on the Sacai x Nike LD Waffle. The upper mixes the Atom knit used on the Alphafly Next% and the suede seen on classic Nike runners from the ‘70s. The same treatment is given to the tongue which sports a mix of mesh and Atom knit.

Leather Swooshes are applied to both the medial and lateral sides of the sneaker. However, on the lateral sides of the sneaker, a white giant Swoosh from the Alphafly Next% is painted on top of it. The midsole is doubled up in that a modern runner midsole is attached to a retro chunky midsole and outsole.

The “Villain Red” colorway sports dark maroon and light green suede panels on a cream Atom Knit base. The leather Swoosh comes in black, which matches with the heel tab. Everything sits on a light cream midsole with a pre-aged yellow wedge.

“Tour Yellow” on the other hand gets yellow and green suede on a yellow Atom Knit upper. Complimenting the Brazil colors are green leather Swooshes and heel tab. Contrasting the colorful upper is a white Atomknit and black mesh tongue. It all sits on a white two-layered midsole and black retro outsole.

Both colorways of the Sacai x Nike Vaporwaffle drop on December 19.
