Sean Wotherspoon has fully unveiled his collaboration with Adidas and there is not a shred of corduroy in sight. Instead, he draws inspiration from his vegan lifestyle to re-engineer the classic Superstar from the ground up. The leather on the Sean Wotherspoon x Adidas Superearth is replaced with recycled polyester while the insole is constructed out of recyclable cork and recycled OrthoLite materials.
To up the quirkiness of the sneaker, Wotherspoon looked to Yohji Yamamoto, of Y3 fame, for inspiration. Referencing the Y3 Superposition, the curator-turned-designer embroidered the lateral sides of the sneaker with flowers and Adidas Trefoil logos. Instead of cutting the threads off, they are left hanging off the sides of the sneaker.
