Stussy takes the Air Force 1 from the streets of New York to the beaches of California. For their upcoming release with Nike, Stussy has covered the classic Air Force 1 in natural, rough-hewn hemp. Combined with the “fossil stone” colorway, the Stussy x Air Force 1 is decidedly laid back and beach-ready.

Even though this colorway heavily resembles the Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 “fossil”, the details and construction of this sneaker really set it apart. For one, most of the branding on the Stussy Air Force 1 has been embroidered on with threading that is slightly lighter than the rest of the upper. The embroidered texture of the lateral Swooshes, heel tab and Stussy logos on the toe box allow these details to stand out, without being too pronounced.

Speaking of the Stussy logo, the embroidered emblem on the toe box goes back to the double S logo, which is a timeless play on the Chanel double C graphic. The final bit of branding appears on the tongue tab, where the handwritten Stussy logo is applied. This logo gives a pop of black, which helps to break the overall monotony of the colorway. Rounding off this monotone design is the sneaker’s stone midsole, outsole and laces.

As seen with prior Stussy x Nike releases, the monotone, stone colorways often become the fan-favorite sneaker, and it will be no different with this Stussy x Air Force 1.
