Only 20 pairs of the Virgil Abloh x MCA Chicago x Cassius Hirst Nike Air Force 1 will ever be made, each one hand-painted by Cassius Hirst.

Each of the 20 sneakers is unique from the rest, thanks to the hand-painted designs and insoles marked “1/20”.

Cassius Hirst is out here trying to compete with MSCHF’s Jesus Shoes for the most expensive retail price for a sneaker. This time, he has released the Virgil Abloh x MCA Chicago x Cassius Hirst Nike Air Force 1. The new four-way collaboration will see the artist take on 20 pairs of the light blue Virgil Abloh x MCA Chicago Nike Air Force 1.

Hirst dressed the sneakers with hand-painted x-ray imagery of feet, with a cracked silver swoosh and a mixed color palette in line with the original colors of the sneakers. The shoes also boast custom lace locks in red, white and black, as well as Virgil Abloh’s signature zip-tie tag. Hints of red stretching from the midsoles to the heel tabs finish out the unique design.

The insoles of the sneaker bear a handwritten “1/20”, which signifies just how limited and rare these sneakers are. Due to the hand-painted nature of the collaboration, each sneaker will be slightly different from the rest, making each pair special and one-of-a-kind.

You have a spare US$3,000 lying around, you can cop a pair at MCA Chicago’s storefront. The sneaker is part of an MCA-exclusive artist collaboration for the Church & State pop-up at the museum in May.
