The CDG x Nike Air Max 97 is a First in Their History of Collabs

CDG x Nike are set to release the Air Max 97 in two colorways. Here’s everything we know about the drop.

This is the first time that Comme des Garçons and Nike are collaborating on the iconic Air Max 97. Since their very first collaboration in 1999, the duo has released countless game-changing sneakers including the Supreme x CDG Air Force 1, CDG x Air Jordan 1 High, and the iconic CDG x Nike Air Foamposite One.

As shown in an Instagram post by @fashionsnapcom, the Air Max 97 was revealed during CDG’s Fall/Winter 2022 show. The Air Max 97 will come in two colorways — grey and black.

Based on the images, CDG did not tinker too much with the silhouette of the Air Max 97. No deconstructed elements are seen on the sneaker, which was the distinguishing design element of their Air Max 95. Instead, it’s the distressed leather paneling that catches our eyes. The textured look adds a layer of refinement to the classic runner.
