After releasing the two distinctive colorways back-to-back, “Black/White” and “Black/Yellow”, the Hong Kong-based fashion label Clot and Nike teased the third colorway that is to be released in the OG colorway.
Early images of the collab sneaker reveal a colorway that is a nod to the OG colorway of the Cortez that was featured in the award-winning film, Forrest Gump. The color blocking largely mirrors the original Cortez, including prints on the Swoosh, the midsole, the inner lining and leather uppers. However, the collab sneaker sees the Swoosh getting split into two halves.
The Clot x Nike Cortez is a stylish and unique sneaker that pays homage to Chinese culture through the complete reinvention of the classic sneaker. The revised construction of the shoe allows it to be worn in three different ways for different occasions.
Each Clotez has received a different nickname. The first “Black/White” release was referred to as the “Ying Yang” colorway while the “Black/Yellow” was nicknamed “Bruce Lee” – a nod to the martial artist’s iconic yellow and black jumpsuit.
The Clot x Nike Cortez “Forrest Gump” is set to drop sometime in 2023. Stay tuned for more updates on its release in Singapore.
