Nike’s partnership with Edison Chen’s Clot stretches back more than a decade, producing many memorable releases. But it’s Clot’s radical take on the Air Force 1 with tearaway silk uppers that has continually excited sneakerheads all over the world. The first of those came in 2009 – a Chinese New Year special draped in red with a black leather under layer – with a sequel only arriving nine years later in 2018. But fresh off the new Air Force 1 “Blue Silk” release in 2019, Clot and Nike immediately got to work on another drop, while also roping Hiroshi Fujiwara’s Fragment Design into the partnership. The Fragment x Clot x Nike Air Force 1 will arrive in the same legendary design with the exception of a new majestic black colorway this time. Here’s a closer look.
Traditional Chinese silk patterns once again dominate the black uppers with a red leather under layer. With Fragment onboard, the layer underneath will likely also include a series of Fragment’s signature thunderbolt insignias in addition to the co-branded red insoles.
Sources revealed that the Fragment x Clot x Nike Air Force 1 “Black Silk” could potentially drop on Black Friday, November 29 at a retail price of S$349. But at this time, no official date has been set. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates on the Singapore release.
