1) Trade, buy and sell Sneakers
Tired of your old sneakers? Why not take your pre-owned sneakers to the convention in exchange for cash or pop by SneakerLAH’s designated trading pit for a cashless exchange?
SneakerLAH 2016 saw some expensive sneakers – most notably the Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Red October” priced at RM15,000 (approx. S$4,826). Other shoes spotted for sale at the previous convention include the Supreme x Nike Air Max 98 and the Hender Scheme Air Jordan IV.
2) Preview upcoming sneaker releases
This year, SneakerLAH convention will feature a display of over 350 pairs of limited edition sneakers.
Attendees will also be able to access information such as upcoming releases from heavyweight brands like Reebok and Vans. Other brands making its presence at the convention include PUMA and Bobby Kim’s streetwear label The Hundreds.
3) Customize your Vans with SBTG
Sneaker artist and designer SBTG will be at SneakerLah 2017. Fans can choose from an array of designs that can be stenciled onto shoes.
4) Meet popular personalities from the region
Learn more about streetwear and sneaker related issues in a panel discussion with some of the region’s most knowledgeable personalities. These include Mark Ong of SBTG and Daniel Kasidi, founder of Rastaclat.
With over 22,000 attendees last year, you can expect to bump into some familiar faces. Previous SneakerLAH attendees include musicians and radio and TV personalities.
5) Music, freebies and good vibes
A highlight of the event is a lucky draw where two lucky winners will stand to win a Vespa S 125 each. There’ll also be a mini skateboard ramp good for both professional and amateur skaters.
No event is complete without live music. SneakerLAH 2017’s lineup includes the sounds of hip-hop musicians Airliftz and Arabyrd, to name a few!
SneakerLAH 2017 will be held at Hall 6, KL Convention Centre (KLCC), Kuala Lumpur on October 7 and 8. Admission begins at RM10 (approx. S$3.22). Entry is free for children aged 12 and below. For more information, visit SneakerLAH’s event page and webpage.
