Gone is the see-through mesh: The biggest change in the new Sacai x Nike Vaporwaffle is the shift from a mesh base to nylon. It heavily alters the appearance of the sneaker and removes the see-through effect seen on the upper of its predecessor.

Good for a rainy day out: Another benefit of the nylon base is the weatherproofing properties that come with it, which the airy mesh of prior releases didn’t offer. Your feet will stay dry and cozy under the layers of suede and nylon.

Two new colorways: This drop delivers the chunky sneaker in two new colorways. Dark Iris mixes deep purple hues on the suede and nylon panels with orange accents on the Swoosh and heel tab. Sesame offers a more muted look matching sesame-colored nylon and suede panels with dark blue accents.

Sacai’s signature double-up elements stay on: As usual, these new colorways come with double Swooshes, laces and tongues. All of this sits on the sneaker’s bulky double-stacked midsole.

Final note: As seen with the release of the Nylon LDWaffle, these new Nike x Sacai Vaporwaffle should sell out pretty quickly. If you wanted a pair of Vaporwaffles that could withstand our mercurial tropical weather, these might be the perfect Sacai x Nike pick-up for you.
